Having just gotten back from GAMA -- I can provide >my< official answer to
this, and you can quote me.

"It was done on purpose, to make the logo more 'trademark-able'..."

And, I hope to have REAL dice, with the dots on the locations that you see
in the Logo by GenCon to be handed out.
