Ok, I did some homework, and this is what I have come up with. It is legal
to make mp3's or dubbed tapes or burns of any music that you own a copy of.
It is illegal to download music from an open source like our old friend
Napster, unless once again we have that music already available in our homes
in whatever form it happens to be in (like my Doors on 8-track). There has
not yet to this date been a precedent as to whether or not it is truly
illegal to make copies of books that you have purchased and have in your
possession. I will be quite honest in saying that I am using the spells for
myself and my wife. Since I do already own every bit of source material
that WoTC has put out, wouldn't it make sense for me to be able to scan it
into a format that is easier to carry around and save back pain? I will
continue to research this and see what else I can come up with.

Jay
