That's strange. How are you compiling? All three build systems should
work on both Linux and Windows. (Also, I coincidentally updated the
Compiling page on the wiki yesterday.)

Not quite true; version info from gver.txt is now also added to RSAV
files, and the files say for which backends support has been compiled
for and which order to try them in.
