I think the problem is to find out who actually CAN do something,
that is, who has access rights to /dev, where is all that located,
is the current maintainer still alive and able to delegate rights,
etc.pp. I see that there are people actively maintaining /hipster,
while /dev/ seems to be dead now, so the first thing to clarify
is how to revive and access the /dev stuff to actually enable people
to change something.
