I have been using Solaris since 1999 and was always impressed with its stability. If there is interest in putting together a Foundation or organization for Open Indiana, I will take care of all of the legal aspects concerning its establishment; however there will have to be other interested people willing to place their names on the governing body of such an organization. Anyone interested should contact me through this list or you can use my personal email. The tax deductible aspect is what can actually attract funding and this can be accomplished with a little work. I would much prefer an organization where the people running it are volunteers and all proceeds will go to the maintenance of the OI codebase and related software applications.
We can get this going with at least 3-4 individuals; if there is interest I can start putting something together.
