As I said, I don't know specifically what the issue with DoveCot is, but if disabling chroot() helps, that could also be a good hint to try.
Perhaps as an alternative to chroot, dovecot can be ran in a zone. For the component that I maintain (OpenSmalltalk) which is a different component, epoll(5) in OpenIndiana seems to work fine. For example SUnit-Tests, SocketTests etc. all run fine, and epoll() calls are issued. Of course it is possible that OpenSmalltalk is using epoll() in a way that differs from how dovecot is using epoll. ----- Op 12 feb 2022 om 15:19 schreef Bob Friesenhahn [email protected]: > On Sat, 12 Feb 2022, [email protected] wrote: > >> >> I don't know what the issue or problem with "dovecot" is, >> but regarding Illumos/OpenIndiana epoll support, epoll(5) in >> OpenIndiana/Illumos >> seems to work. > > The problem appeared to be related to being used in > conjunction with chroot().
