how do we want to handle the parallel trunk and 1.0.x branch in the future ? the differences are getting bigger and bigger, almost every day ;) imo we should merge all changes from 1.0.x into 1.1 asap and then terminate the branch.
Mhmm, I thought that since the 1.0.2 we did only fixing stuff in the 1.0.x branch, and the new features all went into Head ?
yep, but I made millions of fixes/improvements/documentation and did refactoring the odmg-api, adapt test cases .... and I didn't find the time to backport this stuff.
Most of my changes since 02/24 are not backported :-(
AFAIK the last big feature in the 1.0.x was Armin's cache, wasn't it ?
yep, this is the only new feature in 1.0.x and it's specific for 1.0.x.
My intention was to backport all changes from 1.0.x to 1.x after the major issues are fixed in 1.0.x. But since several weeks for me it's not possible to do this, because the more and issues seems to happen.
Anyway, this is reasonable, though a first alpha of 1.1 would be a good thing to point the more adventurous users to. How about in 1.5 weeks (enough time for a vote on this) ?
Think we can decide about the first alpha of 1.1 when all 1.0.x backport is finished. I'm really sorry about the delay, I do my very best to finish 1.0.x and start with backport. But my focus is to fix most major issues on 1.0.x first, because this is our production branch.
