OK so I've checked and it does indeed turn out okfn.org squid force
cache was misconfigured so rather than just caching okfn.org/ we were
caching okfn.org/* (i.e. everything). apologies for having missed this
before. I've now changed this and things should be better.

Hmmm not sure why -- though i think the wp-admin section is a bit
variable even with caching. Anyway things should be better now.

That's good to hear. I wonder if we should take a proper decision on
this list about whether we want to encourage use of the forums -- we
already have quite a few avenues of communication (perhaps too many
:-) ...)
