Hi George & the OL team:

The merge feature works great! It was worth waiting for.

Three questions:

1. What should happen with names that can be linked to different authors, like:

HABERMAS
http://openlibrary.org/authors/OL6171008A/HABERMAS

The most famous namesakes is Jürgen Habermas, but what is with a name like

HANSEN
http://openlibrary.org/authors/OL3445178A/HANSEN

A. Hansen, C. Hansen etc.

Should there be disambiguation pages (like Wikipedia got)?

2. Should authors with "0 books" be merged?

I assume that 20 % of the OL books are not connected to a work and appear as "0 books".

"Marion Forster Gilmore (1887 - [from old catalog]) 0 books"
http://openlibrary.org/authors/OL6811005A/Marion_Forster_Gilmore

can be found in www.archive.org
with a link to: http://openlibrary.org/books/OL24244222M/Virginia

3. How should be dealt with the amazon.com records, that have multiple authors (mixed in one name)?

"Jason Hook, Patricia Levy, Chris Oxlade, Sean Sheehan Nicola Barber"
http://openlibrary.org/authors/OL3692867A

"Dennis; Foster, Norm; Sherman, Jason Foon 0 books"
http://openlibrary.org/authors/OL3633786A

= Dennis Foon et al.
