Right. So we need to fill in that time. If necessary we can contact the person who was running the import programs. The direction of OL changed at that point because there was a new manager, and emphasis was on the UI. It may be that no other library sources were imported at that point, only Library of Congress and Amazon. > I understand with Aaron's death that we may have trouble determining the > status of some of these items and / or assigning teams to pursue them, but > I'm at a loss myself now as to whether any of these items are being > pursued and what I can do to begin to further any of these objectives. Actually, Aaron ceased being involved in 2009. George Oates took over at that point. George left in 2010/11? So there hasn't been a manager over OL for a long while. These are big shoes to step into, and part of what I think we need to do is to manage our expectations and figure out what we can really do. > > For myself as a small publisher with some 2,000 titles, most - maybe 90% > are not in the OL or Archive database. I think that something like that could possibly work for OL -- basically you put in a few terms (or an ISBN) and the data is retrieved from a database with an API. This works as long as some other library has received and cataloged the book. I like the idea of creating "collections". OL has "lists" but a collection is a bit different. Not sure where to go with that... but it's a thought.
