Actually, you can click through to the original record, but not to the record that has been modified to represent the ebook -- since that happens on the fly in response to the _archive_marc URL. > > Would it be better to just incorporate it into the page on the site > (down with the rest of the "download catalog record" options) rather > than having it as a browser plugin? Who is the target consumer of these > records? Brewster has said in the past that he is not in favor of having OL be a source of MARC records. I'm assuming that he would not want a link added to the OL page for a MARC record that would be intended to be consumed into library systems. But obviously that would be the easiest option. (The link to the original record has flown under the radar, but in any case it's not a valid record for the ebook.) As for consumers, there are library systems that would like to add a selection of records for free ebooks into their catalogs. They do NOT want the full 1.n million records, they want only a select few. I am working on a grant to try to identify sets of records that would facilitate this. We don't know yet exactly what the preferences are for ingesting these records. kc > > Tom > > > On Mon, Jun 17, 2013 at 3:39 PM, Karen Coyle <[email protected] > <mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: > > Tom, > > I was thinking of starting at an ol Edition page.
