This is probably a question for Karen or some other MARC pro.

When I look at this LC MARC record:
https://openlibrary.org/show-records/marc_loc_updates/v40.i24.records.utf8:8000127:1189

I see, in part, "100 1 $aKandler, Alfred R.$q(Alfred Rudolf),$d1900-1974."

It seems like we could add an alternate name of Alfred Rudolf Kandler for
the author in addition to the Alfred R. Kandler that we have
https://openlibrary.org/authors/OL7138262A/Alfred_R._Kandler (don't try
searching for him, he's not in the search index)

Is the formatting of the 100q subfield standard enough to make this
feasible. Are we guaranteed to be able to strip the parentheses from the
100q and append the part before the comma of the 100a and end up with
something reasonable?

Tom
