The red vs. black air cleaner was a high compression vs. low compression
thing for a while, not a 2 barrel vs. 4 barrel thing. It lasted at
least through 1966 on the big cars. I have a red air 2 barrel air
cleaner assembly form a '66 Dynamic 88 with the high compression 425 2
barrel engine.
