    If you suspect the tank sock/filter is stopped up, you might be able to
cure your problem this way. Remove the gas line from the fuel pump, remove
the gas cap, blow air "Back" toward the fuel tank. If the sock/filter is
stopped up, you will hear a pop/clunk as the air pressure blows the filter
off, or splits it opened. Just leave it in the tank. Install an inline
filter before the pump and you should be in good shape.
    Worked for me.
