Base 350-4 barrel engine , I always thought it is a w31 at least thats what all the literature and badgeing on the car says. Special heads and 10.5 to 1 comp. All rallyes should have a head with the #9 cast in them. Aluminium intake ram air etc. Doesn't sound like a base 350-4bbl cutlass engine, Lord said I'd be wrong once, mabey this is it.

The Rallye 350 was built as an insurance beater. Wild looks, but the base Cutlass Supreme 350 4 barrel to qualify it for affordable insurance premiums. There are rumored to have been a few factory W-31 Rallye 350's, but I have never seen one with enough documentation to convince me it was factory. I have, of course, seen a bunch that were modified later and one that had the W-31 stuff added by the selling dealer.
