A guy I know has an '87 Cutlass with a 2004R trans in it. Says he has the
benefit of good launch and overdrive. Somehow I think he had to find a valve body from Buick to make it work (maybe a turbo or grand national) Seems like
it would be a lot easier than the Geravendors setup.  Anybody have any
experience with the 2004R?

They work well behind Olds engines. Garden variety OG type is lame (slow and soft shifting) but hipo OZ is crisp and they can by modified to any level your heart desires.
