Jerry,

I just finished my dash on my 1970 442.  I was just like you... scared to do it.
It was not too bad. Just remember to take tons of pictures with digital camera.
Crawl under dash and take pictures all along the bottom, noting were every wire, cable
and vacuum line leads to. And when you take the dash off more pictures from different angles.

You should pull the dash off the car, I guess it could be done on the car but that
would be a major pain and you will break things & cut yourself up bad!

It's not too hard to take the dash off, a couple screws and a couple of push on studs.
It will be a good time to clean and detain the dash like I did.
Mine is now wrapped up in plastic shrink wrap and in a box waiting for the car
to be painted.

I used M & H wiring harness, perfect match very nice. But it is only the main harness
there is a secondary harness in the dash that is not made, soooo... DO NOT CUT ANY WIRES!
when taking dash or harness off. Door jamb wires pull apart, real difficult but they will come apart

Hi All,

Has anyone ever replaced the under-dash wiring harness?  Who's product did

the used.  How hard is this to do?  Am I opening Pandora's Box by even

considering it?

I believe I may have a few issues that can be attributed to 36 year old

wiring.  Should I replace the underhood wiring at the same time?

Considering the Supercars Unlimited Wiring harnesses but also am looking at

the Ron Francis product as well as some other aftermarket products.  I would

like it to be reliable and look factory, although who is going to see it.

Easy to install would also be good.

Thanks
