The first reply was a mistake.
I see a group made a lot of progress getting an airframe
restored. There was no sign of the engines, wonder what
the prospect of actually getting a couple R2800s going is?
Hopefully Olds parts will contribute to the engine overhaul.
I think R-2800s are still available on the surplus market. Bud Abrams of
Abrams Airborne Mfg., Inc., in Tucson, owns a flying Douglas B-26C Invader
with all military equipment. Invaders used 2 R-2800s. He has 6 spare
engines.
