Dave
What size tire(how tall)?
What rear end gear?
I got a time slip here buddy in the other lane did a 1.76 60ft. and in
the 1/8 did 8.14,for the 1/4 mile 12.84
104.67.
You cant get 94 at the pump?
94 temp outside is HOT. fall will be faster fer sure.
On the 72 i i had 391s in the rear,28" tall tire was going threw the
1/4 at 5500-6000 rpm. 108mph 12.68.
I needed a taller tire also,,torque motors like this i noticed going
threw at 5000-5500.
Sounds like you and son had fun.

Subject: Back to the Strip
My son took his 455 powered Cutlass to the strip for the first time
since we got the bugs worked out. On the 1/8 mile it ran a best of 8.36
@ 81 mph, with a 1.78 60 foot time. Not bad for a stock 455 with a cam
and headers, running on 89 octane pump gas, with 94 degrees and humid
as all get out. With some race fuel and cooler temps this fall, I think
we can knock at least .2 off the ET. One thing for certain, it needs
taller slicks to run on the 1/4 mile. It goes out the big end at 4800+
in the 1/8 and is pulling hard, so it would be wound tighter than I
care to se it in the 1/4 as is.
