I found a 1970 Olds 98 4 door for sale today. I want the car for the motor.
I have not seen it yet, but the owner says the body is very rough. It ran
last 10-11 years ago and apparantely ran very well. The car has sat outside
the whole 10-11 years with a hood on the car, spark plugs in and carb and
air cleaner on the motor as well as the exhaust hooked up. What are the
chances of this motor seizing up from sitting this long? Would it still be
a good motor to get. If it is not locked up, what should I do to it before
I try to start it. The owner is asking $300 for the whole car. Worth it or
not? What is the horsepower rating on this motor. It is a 4 barrel.
Thanks in advance for any tips and help.

========================
Easily worth that unless the motor is seized AND spun a bearing before
death.
Bring me the leftover carcass.
or sell the pcs on ebay
Knobs and switches, etc.
Turn the motor BY HAND the first two turns.
Remove spark plugs for easy turning. Put oil in there too.
