Some leakage should be repairable by any radiator shop. Some leakage because its rotted may not be rapairable. I'd have it pulled and sent the radiator shop for evaluation. Those guys are good and generally stand behind their work. If the radiator is not repairable they will tell you.

        That seems low mileage for replacment. Age and corrosion is a
    factor
    to be considered. if not rotted
    then there is a procedure called rodding out to clean out the
    radiator
    or recoring if the tanks are OK.
    did he say why the radiator needs to be replaced.
