Hi all, Happy Holidays
Marty,
Thats sure wierd they didn't want to tell you. I not like another
company can't buy Royal Purple and test it themself if they wanted to
know. You probably got hold of the Christmas help answering the email.
I have been running Royal Purple for about 5 years now in my H/O.
I have had 0 problems. No problems means no tear down for inspection.
During my research on ZDDP levels I have seen numbers for the Royal
Purple and they are in the safe levels. I don't reember exactly what
they were. I will look in my files to see if I saved it. But I believe
they were over 1400 ppm.
The guy I buy my oil from said he used to sell a lot of the Red Line
oils. But since the Royal Purple came around it has cut out most of the
Red Line products, which are much more expensive.
Happy New Year to all.
Drive Safe!

With all the discussions of oil and zinc levels and what everyone is using
in their Oldsmobile engines, I was just wondering if anybody has tried Royal
Purple oil in anything and whether it was good or not. All the TV shows
like Horsepower and Trucks use it in their high performance engines and it
has been put through numerous tests where it seems to outperform all other
oils. Just wondering what everybody thought of it in an older Oldsmobile
engine. I can tell you that I have been in contact with Royal Purple about
the amount of zinc and phosphorous in their oil and they told me that they
could not disclose the amounts used. I replied back stating that I would
not buy their product unless they told me how much is in the oil and if it
is as good as they say it is they should let everyone know how much they put
in and use it as a selling feature for their product. We'll see what
happens.
