Hi Shanti,

I don't see a ccla or grant from sun for olio. What was the original name of the technology?

I had made sure that all the original contributors had signed the Apache ICLA. I also had Sun sign the software grant agreement (forgot what it was called). So we should be good on that front - can you please check that
Apache has these agreements?

Craig,
Where can I find info on the copyright/CLA stuff?

It's in the incubator guides. Basically, everyone who wrote code, doc, or tests for any of the components needs to have an ICLA on file. If we can verify all the code was written by folks with an ICLA on file, then all we
need is to update the status file to reflect that.

Since it's an existing code base, a grant from Oracle (would have been Sun)
would be nice to have.

As I mentioned in my board report, nobody seems interested in maintaining
the project. Some folks have been kind enough to submit a few patches for
problems they ran into which I have checked in. Beyond that, I'm not
hearing
anything and activity on the user list has dropped off as well.

Personally, I'm happy to continue to help maintain the project. I am most familiar with the PHP and to a certain extent the Java implementation of
the
app, but the rails version is the big gap. I can maintain the workload
portion for all 3 as well.

We need to at least complete the copyright/CLA/grant process in order for
the work we have done here to *not* be wasted.

Of all the folks who have downloaded the project and are using it, is
there
any interest in seeing it continue?

Even with a small number of folks who know how it works and can maintain
it, we could see it continue as a sub-project in Apache.

Other ideas?

Pinging on this thread.

Are there alternatives other than retiring? ie) Things that could be
done to bring it to life? Other communities it could join?

+1 (non-binding).

Note that they've not signed off on their copyright item, so we should
delete the svn tree or get that signed off before hand.
