Why not to just switch to 2014.0 repositories in the working system
and run "urpmi --auto-update" or "urpm-reposync"?
did you try it.. ?
No, since I don't use OMV releases on a regular basis. I guess it's not
surprise that I use ROSA:) And e.g. I had no problems with updates from
MDV 2011 to ROSA Marathon long time ago using 'urpm-reposync'. But for
example we don't support direct update from ROSA Marathon to ROSA
Desktop Fresh (there are vital differences that are hard to be handled
with package updates only, and per-package installer wouldn't help
here). So it depends on the particular package base - if it is possible
to update or not.
But according to OMA mailing lists, guys were able to perform 2013->2014
update successfully (with just several exception that due to issues with
new packages).
i mus try install 2013 in virtualbox again and try to update again..
like you told..
but why the hack can we not take the original or rewritet
drakinstaller on qt or something ?
to have a possible for onlineinstall and clean updates with an normal
rpm-CD/DVD ..
want Rapha and bero not take mageia's install possibility away ? or
what it is the reason to devil ..
This is not the first time when you rise the question and the answer
remain the same - until there is no developer interested in that old
installer which is as slow as Mageia's one, it will not be implemented.
Nobody forbids implementation of such installer, just there is nobody
ready/willing to implement it.
