Not really , since on my limbo box I have portage up an running PYTHON_TARGETS="python2_7 python3_2" PYTHON_SINGLE_TARGET="python2_7" And Gentoo they don't have 4 or 5 packagers ... if you see what I mean... Mark my words... this is a mistake...
