In this case kernel's DRM/KMS is taking care of so called framebuffer, and this has nothing to do with directfb. Anyways removing directfb from any major toolkits will only benefit us, from maintaining yet another library which is not even used at all. Somehow fedora guys have nadled it preety easy, but here each proposition is a walk to a hell. 2014-10-08 19:40 GMT+02:00 Alexander Khryukin <[email protected]>: > >launch fbterm > fbterm is a package from contrib repo > > >i can not access directfb ? or run directfb apps on top of it? > Of course you can. > But usually people use kernel modesetting > > 2014-10-08 20:58 GMT+04:00 [email protected] < > [email protected]>: > > >> Il 08/10/2014 18:36, Symbian Flo ha scritto: >> >> >> ---------- Forwarded message ---------- >> From: Tomasz Gajc <[email protected]> >> Date: 2014-10-08 1:18 GMT+02:00 >> Subject: Re: [OM Cooker] Drop directfb >> To: Cooker OpenMandriva <[email protected]> >> >> >> But how? >> Here we comes to a place where >> it is needed to explain how things works in Unix world. >> I had this feeling this is quite obvious, but finally found I've made a >> mistake. >> >> Nowadays graphics subsystem is handled by KMS/DRM, and yes frame buffer >> is managed by simplefb driver which creates /dev/fb0 as a fallback device >> for drm/card0.
