Do we really need to have an option for that? Even Fedora didn't need
to modify yum. Why are we touching urpmi?
This is a purely GUI based tool thing. If you use PackageKit, it does
it automatically (at least for GNOME Software). If we modify
MandrivaUpdate to do this, then let MandrivaUpdate handle it.
The clue is to not use PackageKit with obvious reasons.
PK is subpar for urpmi for many years, and looks like it will not
change for nerar future.
Modyfining MandrivaUpdate is good idea too, but this excludes users
who are using urpmi directly to do the system update
it's better, because, the Root can controlling it.. but it's controlling
in the Security Options in Drakconf
so, it is this changeable .. but.. anyway, Root-Controlled updates it is
any case more secure
and the Administrator and Root have to know what they make .
Well, an other update-routine as mandrake-online, why not l, if this
more secure and
announce in any case to be exist update it's well .. and only root
access only .. by the user on the systray
"Please tell you Administrator to be exists updates" .. but why
changing, if it's well run ?
To much time ? I guess.. there be other things where mus make more
necessarily and have an higher Priority .
Isn't it so ?
best regards
