the plasma mediacenter issue is I think due to the fact that it uses the
old gstreamer 0.10 libraries. the mediacenter update just avoids the
issue with playing media on plasma-mediacenter when other programs are
built against gstreamer 1.0.
i dont think there's anything that can be done about that as they're
obsolete! Having said that I cant reproduce your issue with any of my
movies.
do you have gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg installed?

Plasma Media Center is working sort of but degraded in that many
