Hello Dennis, I use here a Gemalto Centerion EHS6x modem as a standard.
Basically with SMSTOOLS3 you could use a lot of "phone" devices. So far I tested beside the EHS6x: Vendor Model Type SW Version Device Send Receive Nokia E50 Telephone 0815 /dev/ Yes No Nokia E60 Telephone 0815 /dev/ Yes No ZTE MF110 HSPA Modem 0815 /dev/ttyUSB1 Yes Yes HUAWEI E1750 HSPA Modem 0815 /dev/ttyUSB0 Yes No As you see the main difference is if SMSTOOL is able the fetch the received SMS. Not sure if this is relevant for you. For a cheap solution a surfstick like the Huawei might be sufficient. Is there anyone who used such a module on a centos distribution for example? I know this is not the correct mail list, but I could give it a shot.. Thanks in advance!
