John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, invented in 1762 something called a sandwich. Actually, a cook invented it. That's why we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Sandwich day.
Not sure if the Earl ever experienced what I call a proper sandwich ;-) but what would life be without it...??
