Sherry and Ed both wrote some nice instructions on how to build ON on an OpenSolaris system, but they were getting a bit out of date.
I've updated, and posted here: http://opensolaris.org/os/project/indiana/building_on/ No promises that this is the minimal set of packages required, or is even bug-free in all environments, but it seems to work for me. Send me any explicit corrections, and I'll attempt to keep this reasonably up to date. liane
