I skimmed through some of the files, and it looks good.

One question about it, though: when I fixed the build process so that
non-root builds became possible, I was obliged (by the C-team) to leave
the possibility of doing traditional root builds in place. I felt it
should be removed entirely as a relic of the past, but there were many
who believed that it was important to be able to have a 'complete' image
of the system in $ROOT. I gave in, which is why you see OWNER and GROUP
and $(CH) in the makefiles.

Has that changed? Have the remaining gatestaff given up on the
importance of having owner/group in $ROOT match the real system? If so,
then that's great to hear.

(Oh, and my condolences in advance: by touching this, you're committing
yourself to answering every question about building Solaris that anyone
ever has.  :->)
