=== *Description* ============================================================
Category
    consolidation
Sub-Category
    os-net-pkgs
Description
When I tried to enable nfs/server on a minimized snv_134 server, the service
went into maintenance:
# svcs -x
svc:/network/nfs/server:default (NFS server)
State: maintenance since Tue Mar 30 00:11:28 2010
Reason: Start method failed repeatedly, last died on Killed (9).
   See: http://sun.com/msg/SMF-8000-KS
   See: nfsd(1M)
   See: /var/svc/log/network-nfs-server:default.log
Impact: This service is not running.
In the service log, I find:
[ Mar 29 21:11:26 Executing start method ("/lib/svc/method/nfs-server start"). ]
svcprop: Pattern 'svc:/network/ipfilter:default' doesn't match any entities
[...]
svcprop: Pattern 'svc:/network/ipfilter:default' doesn't match any entities
[ Mar 30 00:11:28 Method or service exit timed out. Killing contract 622. ]
[ Mar 30 00:11:28 Method "start" failed due to signal KILL. ]
The problem vanishes if I install network/ipfilter and run svcadm clear
nfs/server.
Frequency
    Always
Regression
    no
Steps to Reproduce
    See above:
pkg uninstall network/ipfilter
svcadm enable nfs/server
Expected Result
nfs/server starts or I get a proper error message.
Actual Result
    nfs/service enters maintenance.

=== *Public Comments* ========================================================
Note that there is some work ongoing to have pkg(5) automatically generate the
correct dependencies from any dependencies listed in SMF manifests for services
at publication time. This is covered under

http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=15305

I note that in this case, it still wouldn't help as
svc:/network/nfs/server:default does not declare an SMF "require_all"
dependency on svc:/network/ipfilter:default - should it?
