Dear Eric, Amar, ONAP Leaders:

Rick Bauer, and I manage skills certifications for MEF. It was nice to get an
endorsement from the Linux Foundation yesterday on the recent addition to our
certification family, SDN/NFV Certified
Professional<http://www.mef.net/Press-Releases/MEF-Linux-Foundation-and-ETSI-Collaborate-to-Launch-Industry-First-SDN/NFV-Professional-Certification>.
We're doing more things with LF (and hopefully with ONAP, which has lots of
MEF members) to identify areas where more training and perhaps a certification
needs to be built. We plan to start building a cert in network
automation/LSO/orchestration in the fall of 2018, which will continue to fill
out our offerings. Having an EDx or MOOC/Coursera course at low cost, with an
independent 3rd party exam and certification, was something we did when I
worked in the Open Networking Foundation.

Here's where we are going in our framework:

We have been asked informally to look into what building an ONAP certification
might look like. It would sit at the "EXPERT LEVEL" of our framework. If there
is a particular group in ONAP working on this, it would be great to explore the
opportunity further. I have been in contact with Clyde Seepersad of Linux
Foundation, and we would like to collaborate if there is a need to have more
training and/or certification.

Sorry to intrude in your inbox, but please let me know if you want to explore
this.

Best,

Rick

Subject: [onap-discuss] [university] EdX course Introduction to ONAP: Complete
Network Automation

Hello
A very good EdX course on ONAP introduction "Introduction to ONAP: Complete
Network Automation"
https://courses.edx.org/courses/course-v1:LinuxFoundationX+LFS163x+1T2018/course/

After reminding some basic NFV concepts, the course explains ONAP, the
architecture, the main components and the use-case overview.
A very good introduction for beginners with a large number of cool quizzes.

Best Regards

Eric
