We moved away from it to better support each component. Right now it still exists to support heat installation. Perhaps that repo could be used? We don’t really have python applications in our code base. Jorge knows best or can help determine where the requirement for python is. Perhaps it would be good to clean that up. I'm still not sure what sub-project is best to land base and common images. If you have any thoughts regarding it or anything that caught your eye, please, let me know. Also I have some concerns regarding packages installed. I left packages installed as they were, but are they all required to run apps? What python version is required? Currently both python2 and python3 (and related tools) are installing so it can add some unnecessary overhead. As I proposed earlier if Policy team accepts drafts first we need to set up Jenkins job to build base/common images and push them to onap registry and only after that we can continue with merging rebased app images.
