Sylvain, A little background history for you to understand why SO 1.3.7 was not taken in Casablanca 3.0.1. First Integration team needs to run 72-hr stability test and another day to run reliability test to satisfy S3P requirements before release, so we can’t take any new image several days before release date. Secondly, SO 1.3.7 image had 8 patches instead of just SO-1400 fix, and a few of those patches were not for high priority JIRAs. Maintenance release was only for high priority JIRAs due to limited test resource and tight schedule. Integration and SO teams discussed the situation when 1.3.7 was submitted for merge and we decided together not to take 1.3.7.
We are in process to improve Dublin release process. You will hear more from Brian on this topic. I appreciate your contribution and hope this helps. And it could have been good to make a review to bump the version to 1.3.7 after MR no? For this sentence : “1.3.7 is the correct release as a patch to 3.0.1-ONAP tagged OOM.“, I’m not sure to get what you want to say. Seshu Kumar M<https://jira.onap.org/secure/ViewProfile.jspa?name=seshukm>, As Andreas pointed out in SO release note for Casablanca MR, it states that 1.3.7 version is official released image version. But it's incorrect, because your merge request on 1/29 was too close to release sign-off date 1/31 and integration team could not verify and merge it. We had the phone conversation on it and we all agreed you would put issues unresolved by 1.3.6 into SO release note. Please update the release note accordingly as 1.3.7 has many updates https://docs.onap.org/en/casablanca/submodules/so.git/docs/release-notes.html 1.3.7 is the correct release as a patch to 3.0.1-ONAP tagged OOM. Agree that master branch should have been updated to 1.4.0-SNAPSHOT which is the Dublin master but we are still using docker-manifest-staging.csv to manage installs from the master branch. 130 onap/so/api-handler-infra,1.4.0-STAGING-latest 131 onap/so/bpmn-infra,1.4.0-STAGING-latest 132 onap/so/catalog-db-adapter,1.4.0-STAGING-latest 133 onap/so/openstack-adapter,1.4.0-STAGING-latest 134 onap/so/request-db-adapter,1.4.0-STAGING-latest 135 onap/so/sdc-controller,1.4.0-STAGING-latest 136 onap/so/sdnc-adapter,1.4.0-STAGING-latest 137 onap/so/so-monitoring,1.4.0-STAGING-latest 138 onap/so/vfc-adapter,1.4.0-STAGING-latest We are in the midst of transitioning from the use of docker-manifest.csv and docker-manifest-staging.csv to just using the oom helm charts for Dublin (we had a meeting yesterday between OOM and Integration to agree on the plan and will be putting it up on the wiki in the next couple of days). The problem with 1.3.7 was it came in too late to make the official 3.0.1-ONAP tag in OOM. It should be in the 3.0.2-ONAP tagged OOM on Casablanca OOM branch Brian From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Sent: Thursday, April 04, 2019 8:17 AM To: Jim Baker <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>; [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>; SMOKOWSKI, STEVEN <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>; [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Cc: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>; DEBEAU Eric TGI/OLN <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>; LEFEVRE, CATHERINE <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>; [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>; Yang Xu <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>; RICHOMME Morgan TGI/OLN <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>; ROBERT René TGI/OLN <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>; QUINTUNA RODRIGUEZ Veronica TGI/OLN <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>; FREEMAN, BRIAN D <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>; [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>; PLATANIA, MARCO <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>; Andreas Geissler <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>; [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Subject: [SO][Casablanca] confusion with SO versions Hello, Veronica in CC’ has found an issue with her project while uploading a VNF with a lot of environment variables on our openlab (stable/Casablanca reinstalled yesterday with latest commit of the branch). It appears that vnf_resource_customization table had some properties with 2000 characters max, which was insufficient. But if we look at Casablanca (and Master) branch of SO, we see that there have been commits (respectively f6f326e8fb and fe911554) that have changed this value to 20000, which should resolve the issue. The Casablanca commit is from January 17th and refers on https://jira.onap.org/browse/SO-1400<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__jira.onap.org_browse_SO-2D1400&d=DwMGaQ&c=LFYZ-o9_HUMeMTSQicvjIg&r=e3d1ehx3DI5AoMgDmi2Fzw&m=wKoBGjc2EjyKtvvFke_CK9s9clLzgZGYcM7royW0T6E&s=n0pZtnmycMrsSSI1vNmxdEvpLV6IWGSfLQZaBNu7CTA&e=> The discussion on Jira shows that version 1.3.7 solves this issue (and other ones) and this particular version has been uploaded as container on nexus for the last time on January 28th. So why do we still see version 1.3.6 on Casablanca branch of OOM (for example here: https://git.onap.org/oom/tree/kubernetes/so/charts/so-catalog-db-adapter/values.yaml?h=casablanca#n30<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__git.onap.org_oom_tree_kubernetes_so_charts_so-2Dcatalog-2Ddb-2Dadapter_values.yaml-3Fh-3Dcasablanca-23n30&d=DwMGaQ&c=LFYZ-o9_HUMeMTSQicvjIg&r=e3d1ehx3DI5AoMgDmi2Fzw&m=wKoBGjc2EjyKtvvFke_CK9s9clLzgZGYcM7royW0T6E&s=TsLu6cwmBEKr8AnQgioz6k-YW96gcnnmtj8JeLNbkrM&e=>)? Latest commit on OOM on ‘so’ folder is January 17th (moving to 1.3.6) There has been one maintenance release (on January 31th)and a new one is coming and the bug is still not fixed when we deploy. I’m sorry but I don’t see the point to create docker (especially on stable branch) release and not use it on OOM. We already reported our concern on the management of the docker versions, it’s another illustration of the gap between component provider claim (https://onap.readthedocs.io/en/casablanca/submodules/so.git/docs/release-notes.html<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__onap.readthedocs.io_en_casablanca_submodules_so.git_docs_release-2Dnotes.html&d=DwMGaQ&c=LFYZ-o9_HUMeMTSQicvjIg&r=e3d1ehx3DI5AoMgDmi2Fzw&m=wKoBGjc2EjyKtvvFke_CK9s9clLzgZGYcM7royW0T6E&s=qY_KxIXAN1SZjzxPwqjer1GdLNOJz03OAs4tAOkepu8&e=>) and installer reality (https://onap.readthedocs.io/en/casablanca/release/release-manifest-docker.html<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__onap.readthedocs.io_en_casablanca_release_release-2Dmanifest-2Ddocker.html&d=DwMGaQ&c=LFYZ-o9_HUMeMTSQicvjIg&r=e3d1ehx3DI5AoMgDmi2Fzw&m=wKoBGjc2EjyKtvvFke_CK9s9clLzgZGYcM7royW0T6E&s=n0zih4_O8FP5YQDaAmjHVe_YgzcEUO0eOT1dpmT0raY&e=>).
