Hello LFN Technical Community Members:

1) The LFN Governing Board (GB) met via phone call for their regular
monthly meeting on June 13th, 2018.

- During this call, the GB received an update on the status of the LFN
Compliance & Verification Committee (CVC) as well as the "OPNFV Verified
Program" OVP. The CVC members now have a stable draft of the program
governance for review and feedback. The goal is to present a version of
that document to the GB for approval within the next several months. With
regard to both CVC and OVP, activity to test, evaluate, and certify both
VIM/NFVI components has been part of the effort from the beginning.
Working between the OPNFV and the ONAP communities, VNF and PNF testing is
planned to be added to these efforts by the end of the year.

- The SDNLAB organization was voted in as an Associate Member of LFN.

- A TAC update was provided to the GB. It was noted that the TAC is
working toward a July 11th completion date for the LFN Induction process
and project lifecycle documents. Current versions of the work-in-progress
were supplied to the GB members.

It was also noted that the next GB meeting, scheduled for July 18th, will
be focused on discussion and feedback between the GB, the TAC, and
Technical Community leaders. If you are part of the TAC or a project TSC
Chairperson, please be watching for that meeting invitation.

- A MAC update was also provided. It was noted that the ONAP community
received good coverage of their Beijing release. Also, some promotion has
occurred on the free Open Networking training offered by the LF on OPNFV
and ONAP. In addition, the next Open Source Networking Days event is being
planned for the Asia Pacific region during October and will cover 4 or 5
cities such as; Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, and Tokyo.

- The next face to face meeting of the LFN GB will be held on Monday
September 24th, in Amsterdam, Netherlands just prior to the start of ONS
Europe.

2) Community Discussions on Developer Gatherings
I am working to schedule time with each LFN project leadership body/TSC to
discuss community requests for developer gatherings within and across
projects along with options for participating at the LF ONS events. Please
look for that agenda topic on an upcoming TSC meeting and bring your ideas.

If there are other topics/updates that you would like me to provide, please
do not hesitate to contact me.

Best regards,

Phil.
