Hello Marcie and All!

I have just completed my thank yous to the candidates who took time to appear at the Candidates' forum.  While attendance is down,  the viewing audience is up.  We do not have any way of monitoring the number of people who watch the cable TV  on Channel 6 and 25.  As long as good questions are being asked,  the forum, when taped and televised,  offers citizens the opportunity to stay at home and yet be informed about the candidates.   We have received many comments from people who  watched all the forums.

People have phoned in questions every time except the  night of the school board candidates' forum,  we now realize   that someone had pushed to button on the phone in the Green Room to DND - do not disturb.  For those of you who tried to call in and continually received the busy signal,  we are tuly sorry.   We learned something about the phone system at City Hall.

I think the idea of coordinating with the Daily News and the Post is good. I would think no editor would want to publish any letter without permission from the writer.
In view of the pitiful attendance at the political candidate forums last month (with only about a dozen people there and many of those from the sponsoring organizations) perhaps they have seen their day and we should move on to some other means of reaching people. I have been reading that the trend is toward more people wanting to spend the evenings with their families, but they still monitor their e-mail and watch TV.
Marcia
