[Winona Online Democracy]

Bob,

We have not talked with the Daily News about formally participating in the
discussion. If this is something the group thinks would be worthwhile we
can certainly look into it.

I have talked with several reporters, though, and I know they are subscribed
to the list and do monitor the discussion (hello reporters! :-). So when
you post something to the list, you can be fairly certain it is being read
by local news reporters.

I think the more the discussion is expanded (both in reach and in
participation), the more meaningful it will be and the more likely it will
be to have an impact in the community; so it is definitely worthwhile to
explore ways to make that happen.

I invite others to comment on this issue.

-Steve Kranz
