[Winona Online Democracy] Scott: I thought the community would be confused. There's a clear difference in our mind when "I" write a column and when the "newspaper" takes a stand in an editorial. What's clear to me now- thanks to your observation, is that my personal opinion doesn't get separated from the Daily News viewpoint. We write editorials as a team. The "editorial" is unsigned but carries a logo with the editorial board's names and phone numbers -- it runs every Sunday. While I didn't personally agree with the delay of making a decision, I helped form the argument and was comfortable with the piece. I wondered if it would confuse people, that I had taken a shot at the "process" less than a week before. Our reader advisory panel had criticized us for not taking a definitive stand on issues. We will be striving to do that in the future. I will be more careful not to confuse the community with my own views conflicting with an editorial stance, but it's going to take some of the fun out of it. Thanks for bringing up the observation Jim Galewski -----Original Message----- From: Scott Lowery [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, January 24, 2001 8:43 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Winona] Courthouse Rennovation [Winona Online Democracy] Was anyone else confused by the Daily News viewpoint on this issue? One week, it seemed that they were chiding the Commissioners for not getting a decision made, the next week they're urging that they slow down and take their time. As someone who's interested but not very closely involved, I was hoping the WDN's input would clarify the pros and cons of the issue.
