[Winona Online Democracy]

First I would like to address Ruth:
What you said does not bother me (as it did some other people) because I am
educated enough to know that it's only your opinion and that you don't truly
know me enough to have an opinion of me. What you wrote is what you feel
and believe to be true, good for you. What I wrote is what I believe to be
true, good for me.

Lori: thank you for what you said, it's nice to know that there are people
out there that aren't afraid to stand up for others.

Chris: I did not write "you get what you pay for".

Now for all the others, I would be happy to have the superintendents jobs
and take a large pay cut from what he is making. I am qualified for the job
with my Ph.D., but I choose to work in a different field to be able to spend
the time needed for my special needs son (that attends the public schools).
I also moved here not to long ago and my husband and I moved here because of
the quality of education in this town. We both took very large pay cuts to
move here, because money is not life it just helps pay for things that are
needed and wanted. We have chose to live life without the wanted things and
only the needed things. Our family is much happier because of it.

Now I hope that people don't take what I wrote in the wrong way, I only
would like to try to find ways to keep programs going that are now going to
be cut. I know that what I have suggested is not the total answer, but
wouldn't it be a start? Or maybe everyone can think of something else. I
do hope that no schools get closed, that teachers don't loose jobs, and that
programs can stay open at all schools.
Let's not cheat our kids,
Pam
