[Winona Online Democracy]
I was also thinking the same Jim.....however I hope the silence is mot
symbolic of no public interest in the "possible state government
shut-down." As I spent the later part of last week on vacation in the
metro area, I think it was the Star Tribune that had a few practical
notes on how state parks would be closed, less state troopers to ticket
folks, and of course at the County level we are getting the state
Commissioners letters regarding vendor contracts which may or may not be
paid. I know my daily work is an interface of local, state and federal
direct service provision for many local familes. Is the silent majority
not concerned? Or do we have faith that the Legislature will complete a
budget by June 30? Comments welcome from all. Lynn Theurer
