[Winona Online Democracy] As a member of the middle school task force, let me assure all that the issue of the new middle school location "out of town" was of great concern and focused on many times by, for example, Mr. Sonneman. As someone who walked to Jefferson, k through 9th grade, it was my biggest disappointment with the final concensus but a concensus there had to be, there was not another obvious choice and, as has been mentioned, the present location is in the path of further expansion of Winona and therefore, part of the community.
