Candidates must clearly be informed of this information. Client is looking for a consultant to guide the design, launch, and operation of a centralized Information Technology (IT) Project Management Office (PMO). Responsibilities include: - Support the PMO Director in managing the development and implementation of PMO strategy, establishing the PMO function as a center of excellence, institutionalizing a Project Management (PM) life cycle methodology, and aligning the PMO vision with the overall Technology & Product organizational vision - Establish and integrate PMO measures, metrics, thresholds, and targets to drive performance in alignment with IT and business strategies including risk and operational management metrics - Evolve program and project management capabilities, improve delivery of solutions to business clients, and leverage project management knowledge across the IT organization. - Ensure project management standards are followed in all projects. - Ensure scheduling conflicts and resource allocations between projects are handles based on priorities and interdependencies of the projects. - Lead the development, maintenance, oversight, and operation of PMO-related processes, serving as the innovator for the PMO strategy. - Communicate and coordinate with sponsors and customer representatives to ensure program/project needs are met. - Develop and coach program and project managers to ensure that they are meeting expectations for delivery of products and services. - Coordinate the use of personnel across the PMO projects as needed to meet multiple project objectives - Ensure that project deliverables align with technical product and process standards as defined by IT - Coordinate with staff supporting Microsoft Project Server rollout to align Project Server implementation with PMO standards and processes - Ensure project management tools such as Microsoft Project are being used appropriately by program and project managers *Experience and skills:* *Required:* - 10+ years of project management experience, mainly in IT, preferably software development/integration - Strong expertise in project management lifecycle and standards - Strong leadership skills - Experience developing and launching at least one PMO supporting at least 5 project managers - Experience with enterprise project management tools - Proficient with Microsoft Project, preferably Project 2010 - Experience setting standards for use of project management tools and templates - Excellent organizational, planning, and documentation ability - Strong communication skills appropriate across levels, including the ability to communicate complex challenges within the realm of project management, portfolio management and resource management - Experience planning, rolling out, and problem-solving organizational change initiatives - Experience supporting teams through transitions to new work processes - Ability to define, plan, and achieve measurable results *Desirable:* - Experience with Microsoft Project Server, especially version 2010 - PMP certification - Experience creating multi-level (program and project manager) PMO structure - Experience overseeing projects using Unified Process development methodology - Experience managing projects in education, especially K-12 - Experience managing projects in state government - Experience working with and facilitating governance / prioritization processes *( 3 ) Requirement for 2 PMs for a minimum 6 month project near Philadelphia* *US Citizens/Green card holders are eligible to apply* * * *1. Cut-Over manager - PM level* Industry - Defense Location - Near Philadelphia, PA (with some travel to CT) Start Date - ASAP Duration - 6 Months Experience with managing the cut-over of the SAP rollouts during the pre golive and post golive phases of the project. Consultant would be working with the business closely to prepare the cut-over plan and execute the cut-over as per the plan. *2. Data Conversion Manager - PM level* Industry - Defense Location - Near Philadelphia, PA (with some travel to CT) Start Date - ASAP Duration - 6 Months Candidate must have experience with managing SAP rollouts especially in the data conversions during realization and pre golive phases of the project. Some technical knowledge would be helpful to work with IT teams for the data conversion.
