well I know that fluffwise they are very diffrent, but the mechanics on them are damn near identical. They both have the same 3 stats, no skill points, and get acsess to the exact same list of powers. Ghosts exist in the physical world and Twilight only, and Spirits can exist in Physical world, Twilight, Shadow, or the astral planes. Ghosts are the remains of persons or places that once exited, Spirits can be anything. They can be the embodiement of an Idea, Mythical place (dosen't exist), concept, or anthing else, but they are always the idealized version of that thing. Spirits can also have influences (the only thing they get mechanicly that ghosts don't get) that cross consepts such as a fear/ blood spirit or a tree/earth/water spirit. the big difrence in vampire at least, is that there are several powers to interact with ghosts (twilight projection, secer's claws, kidred medium, ect....) but only ONE power that even lets you interact (with no control mind you) with spirits, and that is spirit cruac. Vamps were just not ment to deal with spirits. ghosts on the other hand are mechnicly the same but usually weaker (by fluff not by design) and are within the realm of kindred manipulation and control.
