Hi,
just to make bit a bit more clear:
As my C++/Java knowledge is not really existing, I would like to work
and contribute on the part that is outside of the OOo source code.
Furthermore, I understand now that Oracle will transfer all data (incl.
around the project like issue tracker, wiki's and webpages) or the ASF
can grab it somewhere. So, any local copy shouldn't be necessary.
Best regards
Marcus

Hi,
as I have done some work on the OOo websites, I still have some svn
repositories locally (e.g., top homepage, download, development,
marketing). I would be happy when I can help to transfer these kind of
data to the Apache infrastructure.
Best regards
Marcus

Lesson 1: the ASF is a very bottoms-up organization. This is
something the PPMC should work out. What do you propose?

Well, assuming the new project acquires the domain name, just pointing
it to
the
ASF project website would be a start I guess. But since OOo is "end user"
software, I find
myself wondering if there's a need for a "front page" to the project much
like the current
content of openoffice.org (hmmm.. do we get that content by any chance?)
that provides
stuff that the average Joe - who just wants to download the software -
would care about, as opposed to
stuff open source hackers who are planning to contribute, would care
about.
