I am told that the VS 2010 V++ doesn't work directly, but VC++ 2008 is 
currently being used.

Also, there is need for cygwin and perhaps other things.  See the other posts 
re win32/win64 for more.

Why sadly?  I thought half the point of OOo was to be an alternative
to MS Office. The Linux community is the choir that OOo preaches to.

Speaking of Windows, is MS VC++ 2010 Express sufficient for a build?
