When you have problems with document recovery please edit the following file
and delete the respective items for the affected files (may differ on Windows):

Since 3.3, the recovery.xcu file has disappeared. You've to delete the
registrymodifications.xcu file (or at least edit it to remove the recovery
part) in the root folder of the profile (/user).
