Bug #: 119300
Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: copy&paste from xterm no longer allows to select
column delimiters and merge them
Classification: Application
Product: Spreadsheet
Version: OOo 3.1.1
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P3
Component: formatting
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
OpenOffice.org calc in version 2.x allowed to select a block as a result of
running a command line program in an xterm and paste it into a table by Ctrl-V,
by menu Edit/Paste or right-click/paste. A dialog was shown offering the
selection of a column separator, option to merge separators and even change the
column format or hide a format in preview. In version 3.1.1 OOO310m19 (Build
9420) which is a part of CentOS 5.8 this option is missing and even
Ctrl-Shift-V offers only "unformatted text" from "unknown source". The feature
was very useful because it was possible to use a mouse and extract even a large
table from unformatted output by a few clicks, now either each of (possibly a
few thousand) numbers has to be copied&pasted individually or an extraction
program has to be written.
