GigaBase perform better to me on Linux.
You notice a better hit, req/sec and cache start up time.
But it is unstable to some point at some db_cache_mem settings
For instance, when I set db_cache_mem to 84m, gigabase crashes. I have
tried high, but to some how, my hit ratio when down slightly. I find that
db_cache_mem works better at 64MB to me since I have 768MB of physical
memory.
module gigabase_db {
dbhome /usr/local/oops/DB
dbname dburl
db_cache_mem 72m
oops: btree.cpp:215: void dbBtree::remove (dbDatabase *, unsigned int,
unsigned
int, int, int (*) (void *, void *, unsigned int)): Assertion `result !=
not_foun
d' failed.
Thank you very much.
